Cruelty free, Guilt free! - Fashion and Make-up

Have you ever seen those ads with the adorable animals looking sadly at the camera, and you just think "ohh so cute" instead of actually thinking about what the message the advertising is trying to portray? This is exactly like looking at a beauty product, and buying it because the name, label, packaging is "pretty" or "cool'. But what about what goes into that product, and more importantly, how and what do they test it on before it goes into mass production? This is something that we, here at eco-femmes make sure we do every time we purchase a beauty product. Many people don't fully understand the impact animal testing has on the animals. Being kept in such awful captivity is a complete violation of the animals right, but what's even worse is the fact that the animals are actually tested on with harsh, potentially fatal products. When purchasing beauty products, it is essential to make sure that they are not tested on animals.

Always check to see whether or not the packaging or labelling of the product states whether or not it was tested on animals, and if it doesn't say anything, that usually means it was. Here is a website that has an extensive list of brands that DO test on animals, that way you can educate yourself on what brands to look out for. Remember, some of the brands that test on animals may be ones that are popular and you might love, but nevertheless, they still do put animal's lives at risk. Some good brands that don't test on animals, and have environmentally friendly beauty products for teens are; Lush, Juice Beauty, Afterglow cosmetics, Urban decay and The body shop. These are only a few of the great brands that are fun, fashionable, cruelty free and eco friendly. Once you know you are buying all cruelty free beauty products, you'll forever be; Cruelty free, Guilt free!
